John Cena is a perfectionist. For that reason, it might not come as a total surprise that the wrestler-turned-movie-star wanted to get everything right with his marriage to Shay Shariatzadeh.

John Cena and Shay Shariatzadeh exchanged vows again on Friday, after COVID ruined the couple’s first wedding ceremony, according to People.

While the two technically married in October 2020, this time around they had a proper ceremony that didn’t place restrictions on attendance or require attendees to wear masks. The ceremony reportedly took place at Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver, British Columbia.

On Saturday afternoon, John Cena published this short-and-sweet tweet:

Cena and Shariatzadeh chose Vancouver because it is where they met. The two were co-stars on the set of his 2019 comedy Playing With Fire.

John Cena reportedly said during promotion for the movie: “No matter what projects I’m involved [with] in the future, this one will always have a special meaning because I got to film a special project and meet someone special. … It’s a wonderful day for a movie premiere[,] and I got a beautiful date.”

Currently, John Cena stars as superhero Peacemaker in the HBO Max show of the same name. He also serves as a presenter TBS’s reboot of Wipeout.

John Cena frequently discusses his personal life on social media. On Thursday, he posted this tweet:

Last month, Cena revealed that he was teased for liking rap and adopting the clothing styles of some of his favorite artists as he grew up. That made him stand out, not fit in — in the worst way.

Childhood bullying is what inspired him to hit the gym in the first place, John Cena disclosed. He began lifting weights in order to defend himself from his bullies.
