But a few days ago, Elle confirmed that they power couple are indeed official. Pretty impressive message control for two huge actors who became an item more than 11 years ago.
Eva Mendes and the Big Reveal
During a TV appearance on the Kyle and Jackie O Show in Australia, Mendes called Gosling her “husband,” according to Elle.
“Everyone is so welcoming here and my husband Ryan is here and we are having the best time,” Mendes reportedly said.
After Kyle and Jackie O Show co-host Brittany Hockley reportedly asked whether Mendes and Gosling got secretly married, the actor dodged the question.
“But who says we weren’t already?” Mendes said. “I like to keep it all mysterious. I’m a very mysterious woman.”
Eva and Ryan’s (Kinda) Mysterious Relationship
A little over a week ago, Mendes provocatively posted an Instagram photo of a tattoo on her inner wrist, that reads “de Gosling,” which fans largely interpreted as a sign that the two actors had made it official.
Mendes actually discussed the tattoo on Kyle and Jackie O Show.
“I do have a tattoo,” she admitted. “It’s not a press-on. But I got it years ago. I posted a picture and I’ve gotten a lot of funny questions.”
Mendes is an avid social media user (like many of us became, sadly, during the pandemic).
For example, Mendes recently posted a pic of herself on Instagram, captioning the image: “Haven’t seen a beach this year. Haven’t been on a beach this year.” A fan commented on the post, saying, “You need to tell Ryan to get you out more.” Mendes returned: “No thank you, I’m good. Rather be home with my man than anywhere else in the world.”
Gosling the Gentleman
For his own part, to acknowledge his partner’s dedication as a mother, Gosling dedicated his Golden Globe five years ago to Mendes.
During his acceptance speech, Gosling thanked his lady. “If she hadn’t have taken all that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today,” he said. “So sweetheart, thank you. To my daughters Amada and Esmeralda, I love you.”
