The Legally Blonde actress, 47, made her debut post-divorce-announcement at the premiere of The Last Thing He Told Me, for which she was an executive producer.
Witherspoon dazzled at the event in a one-shoulder black midi dress with a cheeky yet tasteful slit up the side. She finished the ensemble with elegant black pumps and hoop earrings. Popsugar has pointed out that this dark, monochromatic look is an unexpected choice for the actress, who usually favors a brighter wardrobe.

The Big Little Lies star made her divorce from Jim Toth public on Instagram last month.
“We have some personal news to share. It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” she said in a post, which she later deleted, according to Page Six. “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”
However, Witherspoon wasn’t lacking in company at the Regency Bruin Theatre in Los Angeles, where the premiere for The Last Thing He Told Me was held. The actress caught up with her friend Jennifer Garner, who stars in the series. Witherspoon had nothing but praise for Garner’s performance when she spoke to E!.
“First of all, who doesn’t love Jen Garner?” said the Hello Sunshine co-founder. “I mean, she’s the greatest! And this is kind of going back to like her cool thriller days on Alias. She’s channeling that Sydney Bristow—like running around, trying to figure out what’s going on.”
The show is based on a book of the same title, written by Laura Dave. Reese Witherspoon reportedly loves the novel, which she selected for her book club in 2021.
