Singer Aaron Carter Dead at 34

Aaron Carter, singer and reality star was found dead at the age of 34 earlier today. Carter was the brother of famous Backstreet Boys, Nick Carter. The singer was found dead at his house located in Lancaster, California. TMZ was the first who wrote the story, saying that police responded to the scene after they received a 911 call reporting a male had drowned in a bathtub.

Law enforcement apparently told TMZ that there is currently no evidence of foul play. There has not been any further information released just yet.

Carter rose to fame back in the 90s as a successful pop singer. He released a total of five studio albums, starting with his self-titled 1997 debut album when he was only 9-years-old. His most recent release was LØVË in 2018.

At the peak of his career, he would tour as an opener for Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys, before going on to headline seven of his own musical tours between 2000 and 2014. He also dabbled in TV appearing as himself in House of Carters. The E! reality TV show followed the five Carter siblings as they reunited in LA and worked to once again revive their own careers. The show ran for one season and was heavily parodied especially on Saturday Night Live.

Back in 2019, he competed on Dancing With the Stars where he placed fifth place alongside professional dancer Karina Smirnoff.  He also acted in several TV shows appearing as himself in Lizzie McGuire, and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. In 2004 he guest-starred on 7th Heaven for two episodes as Harry. 

Throughout the years, the actor had quite some trouble with legal substance abuse revealing that he was addicted to pills. He also went to rehab several times.

Carter is survived by his son, Prince.
