Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has a girlfriend and he’s getting rid of her. At least, for a short while. As relayed by People, Bezos is actually planning to send his girlfriend, Lauren Sánchez, to space. It only seems right, given that Bezos has been to space himself.
But Sanchez told CNN that Bezos won’t be coming if she goes. Instead, it will be an all-female crew. She added that the orbit is expected to take place sometime in 2023, which is actually right around the corner.
“It’ll be a great group of females,” she told CNN.
Bezos has his own aerospace company, known as Blue Origin. Along with himself, it has also sent the likes of William Shatner and Michael Strahan into orbit. Sanchez is apparently next.

Interestingly, Bezos’ own journey landed in Texas, where Sanchez’s open arms stood waiting for him. So you know he’ll be expected to do the same for her journey.
Bezos, 58, and Sanchez, 52, have been a public couple since 2019. Sanchez, of course, used to be married to former NFL star Tony Gonzalez, now a popular football studio analyst. Bezos was married to MacKenzie Scott, now considered the third-wealthiest woman in the United States.
The marriage didn’t work out for Bezos, but from the sounds of things, by this time next year, he can tell everyone that his girlfriend is out of this world. Or at least has been off the planet.
By the way, Bezos told CNN he is “building the capacity” to be able to give away his money, and hopes to do so before too long.
“It’s not easy,”he said. “Building Amazon was not easy. It took a lot of hard work, a bunch of very smart teammates, hard-working teammates, and I’m finding — and I think Lauren is finding the same thing — that charity, philanthropy, is very similar.”
