Amy Adams has come a long way in her career. Her face is unmistakable after starring in countless unforgettable films like American Hustle, Justice League, Enchanted, and now, Disenchanted. And now her 12-year-old daughter, Aviana, is following in her footsteps! Aviana is the spitting image of Amy Adams, and her father is Adams’ husband, Darren Le Gallo.

Amy Adams’ Early Life and Career

Amy Adams was born in Vicenza, Italy, because her father was in the military. One of seven children, her family bounced around, eventually settling in Castle Rock, Colorado. “It was like Lord of the Flies,” she told Telegraph UK. “We were all close in age, all very high energy.”

Amy’s father loved to sing and perform after his time in service. Her mother was a semi-professional bodybuilder. Adams told Vanity Fair that she didn’t like school, but she did like the creative arts. She sang in the school choir, ran track, studied gymnastics, and studied dance at the David Taylor Dance Company with the hope of becoming a ballet dancer.

After high school, Adams worked as a hostess and then a waitress at Hooters. She didn’t enjoy the atmosphere and quit after saving enough money to buy a car. Adams started her performing career as a dancer in a dinner theatre version of A Chorus Line in 1994. She then moved to Minnesota, where she played a cheerleader in the film Drop Dead Gorgeous, starring Kirstie Alley (Kirsten Dunst was also in that film). Adams says that it was Kirstie Alley who told her she should try to go to Hollywood.

So, Adams and one of her brothers decided to drive out to Hollywood and their Toyota Celica broke down in New Mexico. They rented a U-Haul to complete the journey and she found herself in the City of Angels. But the rest isn’t history.

Adams’ Acting Career Took Off After She Dyed Her Hair Red

Unfortunately, it took some time for Adams to land any decent roles. Her big break didn’t occur until she decided to switch from being a blonde to a redhead. “When you’re blonde, people associate it all with being flirty,” she once told an interviewer. “With red hair, suddenly you’re quirky.”

After the hair color change, Adams was cast in the TV show Dr. Vegas alongside Rob Lowe. And she was also cast as Ashley in Junebug. For her part in Junebug, Adams won a special jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival. She also won an Independent Spirit Award, a Critics Choice Award, and her first Academy Award nomination for that role. And that was when things started to change for the starlet.

Adams has now become a household name. Her most recent role is a return as Giselle, in the just-released Disney movie, Disenchanted. It’s the sequel to Enchanted, which came out 15 years ago. Co-starring as the villainess is Maya Rudolph.

Amy Adams’ Daughter, Aviana, Makes a Cameo in Disenchanted

Also, in Disenchanted is Adams’ daughter, 12-year-old Aviana. Aviana is practically the spitting image of her momma, with the (natural) blonde hair and plump red lips. Aviana’s eyes are definitely a mix of Amy’s and her father’s. They’re blue and have an intenseness to them.

While speaking on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Adams explained how Aviana makes a cameo in Disenchanted.

“We were in really strict COVID restrictions, so if we wanted to spend the day, I had to invite her to be in the movie,” Adams told Corden. “So, she walks through the market and sort of gazes longingly at a dragonfruit, and then her mother pulls her away. It was really great.”

“I found out she has a real talent for continuity,” Adams added. “So, when you’re working on film, you have to do something the same over and over. And she got really strict about it. It was one of her favorite things to learn about. And she likes to point out continuity errors now.”

Aviana’s father and Amy Adams’ sweetheart husband, Darren Le Gallo, also happens to have a small role in the film. He plays a “Painter in Town Square.” But Le Gallo has had much bigger roles. He probably was in Disenchanted because hey, that’s where the rest of his family was, so why not!

How Amy and Husband Darren Le Gallo Met

Amy Adams and Darren Le Gallo met while taking acting classes under acting coach Warner Loughlin. At the time, they were each dating someone else. But after about a year, when they were both single, Le Gallo asked Adams out on a date.

“He said, ‘I know you’re getting over this [other] guy, but I’m taking you out on Wednesday.’ I think that was it exactly. And I was like, ‘And so you are!’ That was six years ago,” Adams told Vanity Fair in 2008. So, it was 2002 and, six years later, they became engaged.

By the time Amy Adams was filming Junebug in 2004, she was pregnant with Aviana. She and Le Gallo got married in 2015.

Amy, Darren, and Aviana Are Cute as Can Be!

Ever since, Le Gallo and Adams have seemed to be madly in love. They both post photos of each other constantly, with Le Gallo calling Adams “my better half.” Adams told Vanity Fair that her husband is very supportive of her, despite her acting career taking off when his didn’t so much. On that note, Le Gallo still has an impressive IMDb.

“He’s not competitive with me,” she said. “He has a wonderful talent, and there aren’t many people in the world who are like that, where he does not think that my success is his failure. He just doesn’t see it like that, and I don’t either.”

Amy Adams is often accompanied by her hubby Le Gallo when she travels to film or attends award ceremonies. She obviously adores him for his support. When speaking to The Guardian in 2016, she basically called him the glue that keeps the family together.

“He travels with me and helps to keep the family together, and I really do appreciate that,” she said. “But I don’t value it because he’s a man doing it, I value it because he’s my partner… My husband is an extremely competent caregiver.”
