Michael Bublé’s Early Life

Michael Bublé was born on September 9, 1975, in British Columbia. His father, Lewis Bublé, was a sea fisherman and his mother, Amber, stayed home to take care of the kids. Their family was Roman Catholic and listened to a lot of music, including Jazz and Christmas tunes. Bublé says he became fond at age 5 while listening to Bing Crosby’s White Christmas album. Around age 15, his family noticed that he was blessed with extraordinary vocal abilities when he was singing “White Christmas” along with an Irving Berlin recording.

Despite his talent, Bublé actually dreamed of being a hockey player. But his family saw his potential, especially his Italian grandfather. Bublé says his grandpa, a plumber, paid for his music lessons and offered to fix venues’ toilets in exchange for letting him go on stage and sing when he was 16. At age 18, he was discovered by talent show organizer Bev Delich and asked Delich to be his manager. After performing live music and appearing in a variety of TV shows through the 90s, Bublé finally released his first studio album in 1996. In 2000, he wrote two songs for the drama Here’s to Life!, both garnering him Genie Award nominations for Best Original Song.

Bublé’s Inevitable Rise to Fame

Over time, word of Bublé’s talent spread among the wealthy and connected. After performing at former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney’s daughter’s wedding, he was signed on to the 143 Records label by David Foster and then signed by Bruce Allen.

Although he’d released an album in 2001 and another in 2002, it was his 2003 album, Michael Bublé, that made it to the top of several international charts. For the singer, this was the beginning of his fame. He embarked on his Michael Bublé: Live in Concert world tour in 2004 and became an international sensation. Since then, he has toured 7 times, held a Las Vegas residency, and has released 9 more top-selling albums. Bublé is a 4-time Grammy Award winner and has sold more than 75 million records.

Luisana Lopilato Is a Renown Argentine Actress

Luisana Lopilato was born on May 18, 1987, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Like Bublé, Lopilato grew up Christian, but her family was Evangelical. Her older brother and sister are both actors, and she herself began modeling at the young age of 5. Her first acting role was at age 10 in the TV series Chiquititas. Two years later, she was cast on the same show as Luisana Maza. By age 12, she was an Argentine sensation.

Luisana, just like Michael, is also a talented singer. She sang in the Argentine pop rock band Erreway from 2002 to 2007. Lopilato also sang on numerous soundtracks, including for Chiquititas. She became a soap opera sensation among Latin countries and eventually starred in Casados… con Hijos, a Spanish remake of Married… with Children. Her Hollywood debut came in 2019 when she starred as Kendall in Fair Market Value. So far, the model, singer, and actress has 37 acting credits, 10 major award nominations. One of those was the Cilsa Award for Protection of Animals, which she won in 2009.

How Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato Fell In Love

Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato first met in November 2008. Bublé was touring and they were at an after-party following a show. “The head of the label wanted to introduce Michael to Argentina’s most famous actress,” an insider told People. “When he met her, he said it was love at first sight.” They introduced each other to their families, and she started touring with him occasionally, but according to the outlet, they kept things “low key.”

In 2009, Bublé wrote a hit song “Haven’t Met You Yet” about Lopilato. He later told People that he had no idea they’d eventually get married and have children.

In January 2010, news broke that Bublé and Lopilato had been engaged for two months. His rep Liz Rosenberg told People that he bent his knee in front of Lopilato’s family in Argentina. “They’re ecstatic. They’re adorable, in love and laugh all day long,” she revealed.

Michael and Luisana Get Married

They married twice, once in Argentina and again in Canada, in March and May of 2011. In January of 2013, Luisana posted a sweet video to her YouTube channel announcing that they were expecting. Bublé later revealed to Parade that he’d broke the news to Reese Witherspoon over a phone call when they were chatting about performing a duet together.

“I had just found out [we were expecting]. It was the greatest day of my life, so I just said, ‘You know, I’m having a baby!’” he said. “And Reese was so sweet about it and excited for me. It was nice for us to bond that way. I told her before anyone else in the world knew, even members of my own family!”

Noah Bublé Takes After His Dad

Noah was born on August 27, 2013. “Overjoyed and filled with gratitude,” the singer wrote of his son’s arrival. In November of 2016, Michael and Luisana tragically discovered that Noah was diagnosed with a malignant liver cancer called hepatoblastoma.

“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US,” the couple wrote in a joint statement. “We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”

Noah underwent 18 months of treatment and eventually the cancer went into remission. But the stress and continuous fear of losing him took a toll on his parents. Bublé announced his intention to retire in 2018, stating that family made him realize the extent of “celebrity narcissism.” However, he continued his career in the end, and fortunately, Noah beat the disease.

Now 9, Noah is following in his father’s footsteps and is pursuing music. In July, Bublé posted a video to Instagram showing Noah playing piano as he sang along. “More talent in his little fingers than I have in my whole body,” wrote the proud father. A couple months later, he posted a photo of himself playing piano beside Noah. “These are the moments before I leave to go on tour. Always hard to go but I love what I do and who I do it for,” read the caption.

Elias Bublé

In July of 2015, prior to Noah’s cancer diagnosis, Michael and Luisana shared an adorable second baby announcement. She was lying on the ground and asked, “Who’s that in there?” Little Noah walked over, pushed on her stomach, and said, “Baby.”

Elias was born on January 22, 2016. “And then there were 4. Introducing Noah’s little brother Elias Bublé,” his father wrote on Twitter. Years later, Elias cracked the world up thanks to an anecdote by his dad. Michael was talking on The View and recalling his wife’s fourth pregnancy. Elias was 5 at the time.

Bublé recalled breaking the news to his kids that mommy was pregnant again. “He was just distraught, and we said, ‘What’s wrong?’ And he said, ‘Why didn’t you invite us to watch when you fell in love and made the baby?’”

Michael further explained that his 5-year-old had no idea what he’d really just said. “They just know that mommies and daddies fall in love, and they have a baby, so he just wants to know why he wasn’t invited.”

Vida Amber Betty Bublé

Vida was born on July 25, 2018. Luisana shared a black and white photo of her hand the following day.

“How do we explain that our heart is exploding with love? May we not have enough hours of the day to contemplate it. I thank God for giving us this gift of life and joy! … You gave us light, hope, in the end you are and will be our life of the soul!!” wrote the ecstatic mother of her newborn and first daughter.

Vida is 4 years old now and taking dance lessons. “Officially a dance dad,” wrote Michael alongside a snap of them walking to dance class. Her mother also shared a photo of Vida painting her nails. “Spa day with Vida,” she wrote.

But Vida isn’t too much of a girly girl. In a hilarious video posted by Michael, he asked her if she liked princesses. “No!” she responds, practically sobbing. When asked what she likes, she responded, “Marvel!” (superheroes).

Cielo Yoli Rose Bublé

Cielo’s birth announcement came in the form of an official music video. Michael Bublé’s “I Will Never Not Love You” starred his wife and kids. She shows off her baby bump at the end.

“My poor wife will now have five children because I think if they put a truth serum into my arm and asked me how old I was mentally, I would be about 17,” Bublé told Yahoo Life. He added that his Conservative upbringing and her more laid-back Argentine cultural roots made for a “perfect mix” as parents. “I think that mix of our cultures has been such a beautiful thing for my kids because I think they’ve taken the best of both worlds — and they’re very different worlds.”

Cielo was born on August 19, 2022. In an Instagram Q&A, Luisana told fans that their kids had chosen her name before she was born.

When they were awaiting Cielo’s arrival, Bublé told People that they thought their fourth child would be the last. “We’re really trying to be present with the pregnancy because, most likely, it’s the last time,” he said. “I want it to be really special for [Luisana], and I know it goes really fast. Since it’s probably the last one, I just want to make sure that we’re really enjoying every second of it.”

Whether or not that’s true is probably up to the momma, though. “My wife is the boss. It’s her body and she does most of the work, honestly,” Bublé told People. “I think I’m a good hands-on dad, but I still don’t think I come close to doing the work she does.”
