According to a criminal complaint, prosecutors claim that on December 3, the victim’s grandmother, known only as J.D.M., contacted the police after her grandson had refused to open the door.

Upon arriving at the home, first responders knocked on the door of their bedroom but received no response. A paramedic eventually forced the door open and determined that the 18-year-old was deseesed. Police officers then noticed drug paraphernalia nearby and suspected foul play. An autopsy later revealed that the victim had died from a fentanyl overdose.

The victim’s grandparents informed first responders that he had a history of drug use and had attended a rehab center in Minnesota earlier that year. After spending some time in Arizona, he then returned to Wisconsin and began living with his grandparents.

The victim’s mother met with a De Pere police officer and provided several other pieces of evidence. She shared conversations she found from her son’s phone that were linked to Sotelo, who allegedly sold him a “bad batch” of Percocet.

Afterward, law enforcement arranged a “controlled buy” operation involving Sotelo, which led to her arrest.

The Drug Enforcement Administration reported that Sotelo was discovered in possession of 775 fentanyl pills, 60% of which contained lethal doses.

Sotelo told police that she began using marijuana and later became addicted to Percocet. She stated that she didn’t wish to sell drugs, but was compelled to do so to settle a $500 debt with an individual who had supplied her with Percocet pills to sell.

  1. 15 year old knew what she was doing if she had 775 pills.. she would only need to sell 100 of those pills forn$5 each that equals $500. 500 multiplated by 7 equals $3500 75×5=375 3500 plus 375 is $3875. She even lies about not drug dealing she had enough pills to make almost $4000 how is that needed to pay off a $500 debt lock her up she doesnt deserve empathy. She knew she was selling tainted product as she didnt use it..

  2. I agree she should be in jail but she is certainly just low hanging fruit for overly-stretched law enforcement. How about, along with the 13 year olds, they go after MS13 gangster drug dealers and the thousands of cartel members who have sneaked into this country in the last 2 years via biden’s open borders?
