A fight broke out with over 200 students involved at a Louisiana high school. By the end of the brawl, ten arrests were made.

On March 8th, police stormed through the doors of East Baton Rouge Readiness Alternative School. They were called to settle a “major campus disturbance.” When authorities arrived, they found a loaded firearm abandoned on the ground.
Unsuspected Origins
The fight initially began indoors and then moved its way out into the gym and out toward the courtyard of the school. Videos have surfaced of the parts of the fight that took place in the gym. In the clip, chairs are being thrown across the space and several officers making arrests.
One of the videos shows a deputy shoving a 17-year-old student’s face into a brick wall.
According to authorities, the teen in question had struck an officer in the face and attempted to bite him, this led to him being pushed into the wall. The student is currently being held on resisting arrest and battery charges.
The investigation has yet to turn up a motive for the fight. This school is particular is an institution that takes students who have previously been expelled or suspended.
No Fighting Chance
Due to the aggression associated with the encounter, the NAACP have gotten involved. They’re opening an official investigation on the arrest to make sure that excessive brutality wasn’t used during the arrests.
The altercation escalated to a point where parents were getting involved. A witness told a local news outlet, WBRZ that part of the brawl ensued because a girl that didn’t attend the school showed up with her mother to start a fight with another girl.
One of the officers was injured during a brawl with head lacerations and a broken hip.
