A Wisconsin woman with a history of abuse claimed she was having a dream when she stabbed her sleeping ex-boyfriend 19 times last month, according to court documents.

Morgan Lund, 21, pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. Miraculously, the boyfriend survived the attack.

Lund had a history of violence against the victim, per court records, but said this attack was not intended. She claimed to have a dream where she was being pursued by a dark “figure.” When she went to fight off the figure with a pair of scissors while dreaming, she instead stabbed her boyfriend, she told police.

Meanwhile, the victim told the police he awoke during the attack and was able to fight off Lund. He said he believed he was going to die from the stab wounds.

Again, this was reportedly not the first time Lund went after the victim.

β€œ[The victim] stated that throughout their relationship Morgan was very abusive, hitting him on several occasions. He reported that they constantly fight and argue,” court documents read.

β€œHe stated they argue on a daily basis, but [he] shuts the argument down because he does not want to be involved with her any longer. She has threatened him in the past, but has never threatened to kill him as far as he is aware.”

Lund is currently being held on a Β $250,000 bond on a charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
