Kata Hay, a contestant from Season 10 of The Voice was arrested in Sumner County, Tennessee on suspicion of having sexual contact with a minor.

In documents obtained by the online outlet TMZ, Hay is alleged to have had sexual contact with a 16-year-old boy. Suspicion began to arise, according to the report, when Hay initially made sexual comments about the minor boy in front of his parents. The couple were friends with Hay, and had allowed her to live with them during this period of time.
In a statement to TMZ addressing the arrest and allegations against her, Hay said: “As you know a charge is not a conviction.”
The 35-year-old declined to provide further commentary on the case.
The documents accuse that her comments turned into actions and inappropriate physical contact with the minor. It details an incident of her kissing him and forcing him to touch her inappropriately, multiple times, against his will.
The age of consent in Tennessee is 18.
The report on TMZ details that after the alleged incident occurred the teen’s mother confronted Hay in which she acknowledged that the alleged incident had occurred. The mother recorded Hay without her knowledge which meant that further details about the conversations were not allowed to be disclosed.
