Former Full House star Lori Loughlin hit the red carpet on Saturday in Los Angeles. It was the first time she’s been seen on the red carpet since her college admissions bribery scandal that surfaced in early 2019.

Loughlin, who is best known for her role as Aunt Becky, wore a long sleeved dress and strappy heels to the event. She was all smiles on the red carpet. During the benefit she reunited with fellow actress Holly Robinson Peete.
The event, the DesignCare 2022 Gala, was held to benefit the HollyRod Foundation. The HollyRod Foundation was created by Holly Robinson Peete and her former NFL player husband Rodney Peete. The foundation provides “medical, physical and emotional support” for families affected by autism and Parkinson’s disease.
Loughlin has kept a low profile
Loughlin has kept a low profile since she and her designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were arrested back in March of 2019. The couple paid $500,000 to have their two daughters, Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli, accepted to the University of Southern California as crew athletes. The two daughters never participated in the sport.
After claiming the money was a donation to the school and not a bribe, the couple eventually decide to plead guilty to the charges in early 2020. For her part Loughlin was given a two month sentence as well as a $150,000 fine and 150 hours of community service. She has served her time and was released in December of 2020.
Her husband was sentenced to five months in jail, with a $250,000 fine and 250 hours of community service. He served his time and was released from custody in May of 2021.

Saturday’s benefit might have been the first time since the scandal broke that Loughlin has walked a red carpet, but it isn’t her first time out in public. Back in December she returned to TV to reprise her role as Abigail Stanton in a spin off of When Calls the Heart which airs on GAC Family.
According to multiple reports, Loughlin attended her Full House co-star Bob Saget’s funeral in January. The comedian unexpectedly died under somewhat mysterious circumstances in a hotel room. She also appeared on Instagram Live to help promote Netflix’s Comedy Store tribute to Saget.
Olivia Jade, the younger of Loughlin’s two daughters, is a YouTube star. In addition to what her parents went through, she too faced a lot of criticism over the scandal.
Jade addressed some of that criticism back in January on her podcast. She said, “I don’t even think I’ve ever said this publicly but in high school, I had straight A’s. I worked really hard at school.”
