An unnamed marathon runner was captured by a doorbell camera while relieving themselves in a random homeowner’s yard. While participating in the Boston Marathon, which consists of a 26.2-mile trek on foot from Hopkinton, Massachusetts to downtown Boston, the unidentified person was seen pulling down their pants and squatting after waltzing into the yard of a residential home.

The 33-second video, which now holds 111.6k views on Twitter, begins with the runner pulling their pants down on the lawn and doing their business when a spectator follows them onto the lawn. The spectator stares at the runner in horror as the runner continues to defecate. It seems like words were exchanged between the two, but it’s not clear what was said.
Gross Incident Involving Marathon Runner
At the end of the video, the spectator grabs a friend to further inspect what the runner is doing. As the spectator emerges back into the view of the doorbell camera, the runner pulls up their pants and exits the yard through the bushes. It is not clear what happened to the runner or if they finished the race after their inappropriate action.
The homeowner originally shared the shocking video on Reddit accompanied by the text, “One of the marathon runners just took a s–t in my yard (video inside).” The homeowner also added that there were designated portable toilets for the runner to use at any time and that there was, “absolutely zero reason for someone to trespass to take a s–t on a lawn.”
Viewers of the video had much to say about what they witnessed. Many viewers were repulsed, with one Redditor commenting, “People are weird as h*** man, I would be livid if someone took a s–t on my property, running a marathon or not,” while another quipped, “Can we label this as a s–tpost?” While most Redditors were horrified by the actions of the runner, one commenter actually defended them. This person wrote, “I’m sure the runner was really embarrassed to have to do that. I wouldn’t call her out on it any further.”
