The best way to get even more noticed when you’re a celebrity or politician is to be involved in some sort of scandal. Generally, it’s one in which you don’t want to be involved.

But for Manhattan Congressional candidate Mike Itkis, nothing sells like sex — so he’s trying to use it to his advantage.
How so? Well, how about via an online video, starring no less than himself?
Now, before we go any further, we should note that Itkis is a third-party candidate who had very little chance of winning. Before the video, most voters may not have even recognized his name on the ballot.
Who is this guy? voters may have wondered.
And now there is an answer. He’s the guy who starred in an online porn video — and on purpose.
There is a reason for the madness, though. At least, that’s the way Itkis tells it. He said he made the video, co-starring adult movie actress Nicole Sage, in order to promote his “sex positive” political platform.
Basically, Itkis wants to legalize sex work, and this is his way of showing just how serious he is about it. Or something.
“If I would just talk about it, it wouldn’t demonstrate my commitment to the issue,” he told City & State. “And the fact I actually did it was a huge learning experience, and it actually influenced items on my platform.”
Yes, why just talk about sex? Show the people what it’s all about. After all, you are trying to represent them.
“I’m very much an introvert,” Itkis insisted. “I’m kind of a nerd who doesn’t like to be the center of attention if I can avoid it. But I thought the issues I’m trying to address are so important.”
“I wanted to have my issues talked about in some way.”
Give the man credit, because this should do the trick. People may not vote for him after watching him do the nasty, but they will indeed talk about his issues.
Perhaps just not the ones he was hoping for.
