Trump’s speech follows up several speeches this weekend by prominent Conservatives. This outlet reported on advisor Steve Bannon’s speech that occurred yesterday.
Bannon railed against the elites, and so is Donald Trump. In a straw poll reportedly conducted at CPAC about the 2024 Presidential Republican primary, Donald Trump won with a whopping 60% of the support.
Ron Desantis came in second with only 20% of the vote. This signals a continuing trend in polling, as Trump continues to rise over Desantis as the 2022 Election becomes further in the past.
Many Republicans are undoubtedly comforted to hear Trump rail against elements of his own party that work with Democrats to undermine America’s success. It signals the tone of his 2024 campaign, which seems to be much different than 2020.
Trump’s election in 2016 signaled the end of the reign of the establishment Republican. He is right in saying that we can never go back to those days.
Even critics of Trump should understand that going back in time to nominate a ‘moderate’ Republican with questionable positions is foolish in every way.
