But Ava didn’t just inherit her good looks from her mom. As the 24-year-old revealed in an essay for People, Ava has always strived to be as selfless as her mother.
“My mom always taught me to be kind to whomever I met,” she wrote. “She treats every person with respect and makes them feel important. While she embodies kindness in many ways, her ability to care for and give to others is what I admire most. She is selfless and inspires me to be selfless as well.”

Ava Elizabeth Sambora is the only child of Heather and her ex-husband, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. Heather and the former lead guitarist divorced in 2007.
Ava recently graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Chicago with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the family celebrated the college graduation at home while in quarantine, as COVID-19 lockdowns continued. To mark the occasion, she posted a photo of herself in a graduation cap on Instagram. Locklear commented on the post, “Congratulations baby girl! We are so proud…”
Ava rocks her mom’s vintage Bon Jovi tee
Earlier that summer, Ava enchanted fans by posting a pic of herself posing in her mom’s Bon Jovi Forever t-shirt. Her mom had worn the exact same top during an ABC Summer Press Tour in California two decades ago.
The resemblance between the mother and daughter was striking. She could pass as her “mom’s twin,” gushed a writer from the U.S. Sun.
The Loyola Marymount alum captioned the photo, “I got it from my mama (Like I literally got this shirt from my mom’s closet.)”
