In case you didn’t know, the popular Disney ride was discontinued after it was determined to be controversial. Or at least, the 1960s movie it was based on, Song of the South, has been deemed controversial.
The ride dates back to 1989 and was considered a favorite of Disney-goers, so it’s not a huge surprise they gathered around on it on its final day.
Fans Sell Splash Mountain Water
But they did more than just gather. They also scooped — as in the water that surrounded the ride. And now, many of those same people are trying to auction off the water on eBay and other similar sites, and for as little as $200 bucks a jar.
Of course, there’s no way to prove the water is from Splash Mountain. You just have to take the seller’s word for it.
Some people are having fun with that idea — as one individual promoted water placed in a Splash Mountain baggie, for a whopping $25,000. It was even titled “tap water from my sink” on the eBay listing.
“This is obviously just for fun and to make fun of the people who are really selling water from a ride,” the seller wrote in the item description, via the New York Post. “I’m a Disney fan but come one [sic] people has the world gotten so doomed that people would buy water from a ride. Smh if you really want this water buy it. I’ll even do free shipping! Have a magical day!”
So, got $200 to spare? Then a number of people have some Splash Mountain water to sell. For a little extra, they may even through in some oceanfront properties in Arizona.
