All he needed was a wakeboard and a flood, and there’s been no shortage of the latter lately. The man also knew someone who drove a pickup truck. As that’s what he used for speed, as revealed on social media.

This daring endeavor took place in the streets of the Florida Keys. Just days before Hurricane Ian was expected to hit land on the state’s southern half.

As of Wednesday, the storm had moved into the Category 4 stage, and will likely reach Category 5 soon, as it made its way toward Fort Meyers. “The storm is expected to cause life-threatening storm surge, catastrophic winds and flooding in the Florida peninsula,” WESH-TV wrote.

Along with the hurricane, Florida has received multiple tropical storms and tornado warnings all across the state.

The storm intensified this morning reachin winds of 155 mph. According to the National WEather SErvice, “Hurricane force winds were 35 miles out from the center and tropical storm force winds were 150 miles from the center.”

“This is going to be a nasty, nasty day, two days” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis stated. Officials in Florida and nationally are closely tracking the storm’s movements. Over 2.5 million people were ordered to evacuate, but legally no resident can be forced to leave the state or their homes. But, DeSantis stated that the highest risk areas include Collier Country up to Sarasota Country. These areas are no longer safe for residents.
