In a House vote that split party lines, with only one Republican Rep. David Joyce of Ohio voting ‘present’ and every Democrat supporting Omar, the vote came to 218-211.

This is another promise made by new House Speaker Kevin McCarthy that McCarthy has delivered on. He claimed that he would take action against Omar back in January of 2022.

In that statement, McCarthy also said that he would oust Schiff and Swalwell from their position on the House Intelligence Committee, something that he has also followed through on.

Fellow Congressman from Minnesota Tom Emmer told Breitbart news this about the removal of Omar from her committee assignment..

“There is no debate that Ilhan Omar, the face of antisemitism in the Democrat Party, has no place representing American interests on the Foreign Affairs Committee. Ms. Omar is an embarrassment to Minnesota and our country,

Omar has come under fire for what some claim to be ‘anti-semitic’ comments. There was even a House resolution introduced back in 2019 to condemn Omar specifically for her statements made about Jewish people.

Democrat Representative from New York Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was outraged by the removal of Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee. She stated..

“This is about targeting women of color in the United States of America,” Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said.

“Consistency? There is nothing consistent with the Republican Party’s continued attacks, except for the racism and incitement of violence against women of color in this body”

It seems that Democrats are framing this as a race and gender issue while Republicans are staying true to the promises that they made to their voters.

While Mitch McConnell continues to lash out at effective members of his own Senate group, the House is going in a completely different direction.

Promises were made by McCarthy, and so far, he is keeping them.
