Yes, It’s True! SunnyD Is Joining The Hard Seltzer Game

SunnyD

So much for the wholesomeness of SunnyD. Actually, you can make the case that the fizzy orange drink that generally appeals to kids is still plenty wholesome. But it also made the decision to go hard.

It’s true — as SunnyD has introduced its own line of hard seltzer.

Harvest Hill Beverage Company is the actual parent company of SunnyD, and the decision makes sense. After all, sales of the drink reportedly have stagnated in recent years. So why not market to more than just kids?

The official name of the new booze-laden beverage is “SunnyD Vodka Seltzers,” and they can be found at Walmart. They come in a can, as opposed to the large plastic bottles that are reserved for kids, teens, or adults who somehow still enjoy the taste.

SunnyD actually began as Sunny Delight when it was first developed back in 1963. It is mostly marketed as orange juice, but is really sort of a soft drink without any carbonation.

We are SHOOK, too, Mark.

It began as one flavor — orange. It has since spun off to include Tangy Original, Smooth Orange, Orange Strawberry, Orange Mango, Orange Peach, Watermelon, Fruit Punch, Peach, Mango, Blue Raspberry, Cherry Limeade, Lemonade, and Orange Pineapple.

Whew. After checking all those flavors, you may be in need of a stiffer drink.

Fear not, as SunnyD now offers that, too.
